Melbourne Avenue makeover!

08 December 2017

IWE has been supporting West Ealing Neighbours (WEN) to get Melbourne Avenue looking and feeling more like the Town Centre.

WEN volunteers have been busy laying bark chippings to make the planters look neater and easier to clean.  Dean, from Jeff’s Flowers, has donated plants which have been added to the planters making the area feel much more cared for.

With IWE’s Town Ranger, Paul, having reported nearly 2,000 issues over the last year across West Ealing, the BID has been working closely with the council Contract Manager to improve the cleanliness of the area.  This has meant daily inspections and site-walkabouts with the council.

Improvements have started to be seen in terms of litter being removed from the planters, bins emptied regularly, fly tipping removed quickly and pigeon fouling cleaned up.

The BID team were also out on Melbourne Avenue on Friday cleaning down the bins in an effort to make the town centre smarter in preparation for the WEN Christmas Fair on Saturday 9th December.

Some great improvements I’m sure you’ll agree!
